FAQs

  • Is ozone therapy FDA approved? – As of this writing, ozone therapy in the U.S. is not FDA approved for medical conditions. However, in the world of medical literature, ozone therapy has been proven to be safe and effective for many conditions. In Texas, with full patient consent, we are legally allowed to offer these therapies.
  • Should I arrive early prior to my appointment? – We ask that you arrive promptly at the time of your scheduled appointment, so as not to throw off other patients’ timed therapies.
  • How long will my initial consultation take? – Please allow up to 2.5 hours for your first appointment, which includes an initial consultation with our Nurse Practitioner. She will spend as much time as is needed to get a very detailed medical history, assess your current condition and explain all of the therapies offered here at O3 Plus. You will have the opportunity to receive your first treatment following the consultation.
  • Can I bring a friend or family member to my initial consultation/appointment? – At this current time, due to our global health and safety measures, we ask that you not bring anyone else with you. We are taking extra precautions to keep our clinic and patients safe from exposure.
  • Should I send in my medical records in advance? – Please bring your medical records with you at the time of your initial consultation. Our Nurse Practitioner will review them with you during consultation.
  • Do you take insurance? – We do not take insurance. We accept cash, check and card.
  • How long do treatments typically take? – Ongoing treatment times vary, depending on your outlined protocol. On average, patients receiving treatments take about an hour. Others, receiving high dose vitamins or detoxification may take 2-3 hours.
  • How often should I receive therapies? – Initially, we recommend you receive your second treatment within 1 week of the first. Subsequent frequency is completely individualized and will be outlined for you at your initial consultation. Most patients are advised to return once a week for 6-8 weeks, before reducing down to a maintenance protocol of once a month to quarterly.
  • Do these therapies interfere with any medications I may be on? – There are no significant contraindications of ozone therapy to any prior condition or medications; however, your treatments will be guided by our Nurse Practitioner.
  • How soon will I notice the benefits of the therapies? – Most patients report immediate effects, often including diminished pain and increased energy. For those individuals who are in good health, and strictly receiving ozone as a preventative measure, benefits may not be as noticeable. Some patients with more severe health issues may not feel better till after the second treatment, as the first serves to detoxify.
  • Are there any side effects that could prevent me from driving myself home? We have never had a patient react negatively to our treatments that would prevent them from driving. Bruising is possible with any I.V.
  • How long do the benefits last? – Once ozone is introduced into your body, the resulting ozonides have health promoting properties lasting anywhere from 72 hours to several days, depending on your unique biology and current health.
  • Who is eligible for care? We treat adults 18 and up. We do not provide care for children and pregnancies.
  • Are there any contraindications to ozone therapy? Ozone has been shown to be very safe, except the following instances: alcohol intoxication, drug impairment, recent heart attack (week of), active bleeding of unknown cause, untreated thrombocytopenia, ozone allergy, pregnancy, G6PD deficiency (this lab will be drawn at your first appointment to confirm).
